Transcripts of the Month - November

Congratulations this month go to ad.valerie and ad.dj. Fellow providers, if you haven't looked at the patron survey comments which are posted on the KnowItNow24x7 Provider Site, spend a few minutes there and then pat yourself on the back.

After Dark librarian ad.valerie did a wonderful job of establishing rapport with her sharp-eyed client, who asked an interesting question about reliability in one of the recommended resources (see line at 22:44:39).

Email of the Month - September

In keeping with the QuACK goal of sharing exemplary work from the KnowItNow24x7 librarians, the following is an email transaction answered by the leave-a-message answering librarians.

This email demonstrates why librarians are so valuable. The patron was asking for (what he or she thought was) an article. Our email-answerer, Kathy Fisher of Ursuline College, used her expertise to determine that the text was actually a book chapter, steered the patron to the appropriate OhioLINK record, and gave brief instructions for obtaining the work. Congratulation, Kathy!

Emails of the Month - August

This team of librarians provide a valuable service in following-up on messages left by patrons who could not wait (for whatever reason) for a "live" session on KnowItNow24x7. Find out more about the email-answerers in the October newsletter.

QuACK Welcomes Katie Blocksidge

QuACK is pleased to introduce our newest member, Katie Blocksidge. Katie is the primary KIN24x7 provider at Owens Community College Library, where she is in her second year as a staff member.
