Congratulations this month go to ad.valerie and ad.dj. Fellow providers, if you haven't looked at the patron survey comments which are posted on the KnowItNow24x7 Provider Site, spend a few minutes there and then pat yourself on the back.
After Dark librarian ad.valerie did a wonderful job of establishing rapport with her sharp-eyed client, who asked an interesting question about reliability in one of the recommended resources (see line at 22:44:39).
Although the patron had a business assignment question but chose the Reading Recommendations queue, ad.dj patiently explained the step-by-step process of finding resources and made sure that the student didn't get lost along the way. One caveat is the use of OPLIN at 22:32:02. While the patron did eventually get to the Ohio Web Library at www.ohioweblibrary.org, it's better to direct patrons there instead of OPLIN. The Ohio Web Library is the public portal for statewide databases and is the result of a collaboration of Libraries Connect Ohio. During KIN24x7 sessions, kin.oplin.org should be used for the patron's ease of use (i.e., just putting in their zip code). When making suggestions for the patron's own research, outside of KIN24x7, www.ohioweblibrary.org is the preferred site. A minor point in an overall great interaction with the patron.
