I had someone ask a couple questions today about answering SMS questions and thought this would be a good opportunity to revisit some of the procedures involved in responding to these kinds of messages. The manual is always available online, too. You also have access to all the texting articles we've done on the Provider site as well. 1) Don't chat with SMS QUESTION.
In an effort to publicize our new text message feature, KnowItNow24x7 is providing the text below for libraries to use as a model press release or for posting on their websites. Libraries can also take advantage of the QR Code for the knowitnow keyword created for the statewide texting services.
KnowItNow24x7's statewide texting initiative went live yesterday morning at 9:00 am and, throughout the day, received 20 messages. We even received our first thank you from a patron: "Hi I just wanted to thank you guys for doing the text for know it now I love the website but I wanted it in the go thanks and have a wonderful night"

As everyone is hopefully aware of at this point, the statewide texting initiative will go live on February 14. In an effort to centralize all available information on KnowItNow24x7's SMS service, we have provided a new tab at the top of the Provider site's homepage: Texting Articles. In addition to these individual articles, we've also posted information about the new SMS service previously in the October and November newsletters.
