The Georgia Library Association and Georgia Public Library Service are pleased to announce the July sessions of the Wednesday Webinar series, which will highlight trends, innovation, and best practices in Georgia Libraries. While the webinars feature Georgia speakers, registration is open to individuals and groups in all states and nations. Topics are chosen to be of interest to employees of all library types, and each session is approved for one Georgia Continuing Education (CE) contact hour each. The Social Library

Join Cliff Landis as he talks about the ways social media has transformed the library users interact with each other, with the library, and with information. Cliff will also give timely advice on how libraries can use emerging social technologies to keep up with changing user needs. Participants in the webinar will learn how social network sites, microblogging tools, and free open source software can be used to perform outreach and proactive service via the social web.

Library on the Radio
Charlie Bennett and Ameet Doshi

Since January 2010, members of the Georgia Tech Library have produced a weekly library-themed radio show on WREK-Atlanta. The show is called "Lost in the Stacks" and features interviews with Georgia Tech students, faculty, staff, and librarians. "Lost in the Stacks" is a unique approach to collaboration with academic departments, campus services, student organizations, and the Library. Current hosts Charlie Bennett and Ameet Doshi will discuss the development of the show and the challenges involved with this outreach project.
