Free KnowItNow24x7 (KIN24x7) training opportunities will be hosted by Cuyahoga County Public Library at their Administrative Offices, 2111 Snow Road, Parma, Ohio 44134 (behind the Parma-Snow Branch Library) on Wednesday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

A "basic training" morning session (10:00 am to 12:30 pm) will be offered on both April 4 and 11. These sessions will concentrate on navigating the KIN24x7 Provider Site and providing hands-on practice with the SparkRef virtual reference software.

An "advanced training" afternoon session (2:00 pm to 4:00 pm) will be offered April 4 (NOTE: An advanced session has been added to the April 11 training day as well) and will provide tips on using Google, Wikipedia, and the Ohio Web Library databases; handling problem patrons and patrons with problems; and reviewing real KIN24x7 transcripts to enhance customer and reference service skills. There will also be time for discussion and questions.

Participants are welcome to come to either morning session, the afternoon session, or a combination of morning and afternoon.

For the April 4 sessions, lunch will be on-your-own with recommendations provided by Cuyahoga County Public Library staff.

A map and driving directions to the CCPL Administrative Offices are available at www.cuyahoga.lib.oh.us/Administration.aspx.

Staff members from area libraries (either those currently participating in KIN24x7 or those interested in joining the collaborative) are invited to attend. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve your place, email your name, preferred email address, library, and which sessions you'll be attending to Don Boozer, KIN24x7 Coordinator, at support@knowitnow.org.
