On Wednesday January 18, 2012, Wikipedia and several other websites are going dark to protest the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) that is currently being debated in Congress. Because of this KnowItNow24x7 librarians will be unable to use Wikipedia to answer questions. As an alternative we recommend using our statewide databases. You can review login and other pertinent information here.
Also, the unavailablity of Wikipedia might generate more traffic to us as customers look for ways to answer their questions.
We encourage you to share some Wikipedia alternatives in the comments.
Special thanks to Kirstin Krumsee at the State Library who pointed out how this blackout would affect KnowItNow24x7.

Accessing Wikipedia during blackout
You can currently access Wikipedia by using your mobile device or by disabling JavaScript on your desktop web browser. If you end up using Wikipedia in one of these ways remember your customer might not be able to do the same. Cutting and pasting the information is recommended.
