SCOPE
Patrons will sometimes want to contact their favorite stars and other celebrities for a variety of reasons. It can often be difficult to "track down" famous people in entertainment since they are often wary of their "private" information. With that in mind, the following pathfinder will provide tips and resources for providing patrons with contact information for the celebrities they are seeking.
STRATEGIES
- For entertainment personalities, there are sometimes contacts on their official websites and/or Facebook pages. Alternatively, fans can "friend" the celebrity on Facebook and post to their wall.
- If one cannot find specific contact information for the individual celebrity, another strategy is to look for the person's booking agency or talent agency which represents them. A Google search (with the following example) can sometimes uncover this: harrison ford agent|agency. Other options for singers would include production and recording companies, etc.
- If possible, verify that a particular agency is the current representative of a celebrity. If one finds a listing for an agency on a "fan" website, the official web page of the talent agency should be examined to see if the star-in-question is listed there. This cannot always be done (as not all sites list their specific celebrities represented), but patrons should be alerted to the fact that celebrities do change agencies from time to time.
- Overly-enthusiastic fans should sometimes be (gently) reminded that they may not (and most likely will not) get a personal response from a celebrity.
FREE ONLINE SOURCES
- Official websites for celebrities, production companies, television stations, etc. often include mailing addresses, email addresses and phone numbers on a "contact us" page. Some examples of this type of website include:

Talent agency directories:
- Voice Over Resource Guide (Talent Agency Directory) http://www.voiceoverresourceguide.com/la/03agencies.html
- Association of Talent Agents http://www.agentassociation.com/frontdoor/membership_directory.cfm"
- The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) can also give clues as to where to contact actors, directors, etc.: www.imdb.com
