SCOPE

A frequent information need of KIN24x7 patrons is how to cite a particular item for a paper or bibliography. There are a number of different citation styles from which to choose, and this pathfinder provides information on the most common.

  • APA = American Psychological Association. A common citation format in the social sciences
  • Chicago = Chicago Manual of Style. Originated from University of Chicago Press.
    • Turabian = A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations. Named for its author, Kate L. Turabian. Turabian is essentially the same as Chicago but is directly relevant to writes of academic papers. (See publication information below)
  • MLA = Modern Language Association. A common citation format in the humanities
